I watched a clip from a 60min video about the process of recycling. We often think that we are doing the right thing and eliminating the problem when we recycle but actually we are simply pushing the problem off to someone else, in this case to China. This short clip was showing the life of recycled electronics such as computers. The team investigating this "recycling project" literally followed the whole life of these computers. They found out that the LED and dangerous parts were being sent illegally to China. These waist were then dropped in an illegal landfill ran by Chinese gangsters. The men and woman, that work for these gangsters, take apart all of these pieces. This is a highly dangerous situation that can cause cancer, problems giving birth and much more. I found this video inspiring to see, and I am now very interested in to what scientist are working on to create environmental friendly technology.
