Reflection of “Parts of the Letter”
After ready and looking over “Parts of the Letter” I learnt that through the knowledge of vocabulary I  can understand the visual harmony and complexity of the alphabet. I also learnt what sets different letters apart for example bodoni, Baskerville, Rockwell and bembo. The one technique that truly interested me though was counterform, which is used in the logo for FedEx.

description of our third project

Description of the Project
For “What language looks like” I picked a word and then made designs that used only that word to describe the word itself. The first step to this project was to make hand-constructed collages of the word to describe the word. Next I made black and white computer compositions that were based off of my previous hand-constructed collages. After I had an idea of what designs I liked most I made color and space designs. The color and space design was the last step before refining.

Today a heard a quote that made me think of group activities: "To when a championship, every player must sacrifice a portion of their individuality for the sake of the team." - Bill Belicheck

The Definitions I am using are : to issue sporadically and in small bits, to let or cause to fall in drops little by little, to fall or flow in drops or in a thin intermittent stream or to let saliva trickle from the corner of the mouth.

Summery of IDEO movie

In the video we watched as a class we saw the process of designing products at IDEO. The IDEO team was given a task to redesign a shopping cart in five days. The hole team is equal with no tittles. The first went out into the community to learn what people like or don’t like about shopping carts. Then they brain storm using a technique they call deep diving. Deep diving consist of: one conversation at a time, staying focused, in courage wild ideas, and defer from judgment. After brain storming they vote on the best designs and split into groups to focus on certain problems. Once the teams have made prototypes they combine the best parts of each to make the final product.

project 2 brief

For this project I was asked to find three bad designs that I could make better. The rest of my group did the same. We then drew five pictures of each of our own objects. The next day we got together as a team and choose one final object to redesign. After we had an object, which was a soda can, we then brain stormed. I designed multiple styles for a new soda can design and so did my group. We then chose features we liked from several different drawing and combined them together to create our new design. After having an idea of what we wanted, we all made prototypes. I ended up making the final prototype. Then we all made sketches of the final can. After all of this was done we put all of the process onto a poster board.
