This christmas brake I am really excited to go home to work on my elephant, which I haven't had a chance to see sense this summer. It is a giant solid plaster elephant that I made from scratch, so I am very attached to it. I worked on it my whole senior year. I often went in to work on it after school, during other classes and on the weekends, it was a great escape. Heres a picture of what it looks like ( it has a little more fat to the belly now but i never got a chance to take a picture),
If I could do it again I would have studied elephants before just making it
To start off our last project, the light project, I took advantage of the 18 sketches due and went around my house sketching lamps and studying the different sizes, shapes and textures different designers used. This was a technique my art teacher from high school said many artist like Michael Angelo used when creating art. Studying the object before even brainstorming can really help.

this is a description of what language looks like
Description of the Project
For “What language looks like” I picked a word and then made designs that used only that word to describe the word itself. The first step to this project was to make hand-constructed collages of the word to describe the word. Next I made black and white computer compositions that were based off of my previous hand-constructed collages. After I had an idea of what designs I liked most I made color and space designs. The color and space design was the last step before refining.
this is a reflection i made about the what language looks like project
Reflection of Project
Through this project I learnt many valuable things and encountered a few problems. My problems began with my lack of knowledge with a computer and illistrater. The rest of my problems branched off from my computer and illistrater dilemma. All of these problems were dealt with and I learnt a lot from them. I learnt about color, how to place objects behind other objects and pretty much everything that you will see throughout my computer designs I just learnt through this project
